Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a rare disease and remains insufficiently familiar to many healthcare professionals and social services in Serbia. Based on data from the national ALS registry, approximately 300 diagnosed ALS patients are receiving treatment in Serbia at any given time. People living with ALS and their family members face numerous challenges on a daily basis while seeking healthcare and social support.
The Fight Against ALS Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of free ALS counseling services, designed to enable every person living with ALS in Serbia, as well as their family members, to meet with a professional team and receive answers to questions related to the disease itself, the challenges it brings, available therapies, practical advice, and support across different aspects of life. By participating in the counseling sessions, you will learn how to better cope with individual and family-related challenges throughout the course of the disease, understand next steps, and identify what actions are important to take. Counseling sessions may be individual or group-based, depending on your preferences. The counseling services are planned to take place once every two months.
The counseling sessions will be held during 2026 on the following dates: May 14, June 18, August 20, September 17, October 22, and December 17, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. All sessions will take place at the Euromedik Health Center in Dušanovac, located at 32 Stefana Prvovenčanog Street, Belgrade. The location is easily accessible, situated near the highway, and parking is available for participants.
